Apple ha lanzado la cuarta beta de tvOS 18 para que los desarrolladores la prueben. Esta versión llega dos semanas después de que se lanzara la tercera beta. Los desarrolladores registrados pueden descargar la actualización de tvOS 18 al optar por la beta a través de la aplicación Configuración en el Apple TV. Se requiere una cuenta de desarrollador registrada.
Una de las principales novedades de tvOS 18 es la función InSight en la app TV, que proporciona información en tiempo real sobre actores, música y más en los programas y música de Apple TV+. Además, el Diálogo Mejorado ha sido perfeccionado con aprendizaje automático y audio computacional para mejorar la claridad vocal sobre el ruido de fondo y la música. Ahora está disponible en los altavoces integrados de TV, AirPods y otros dispositivos Bluetooth.
Las subtítulos ahora aparecerán automáticamente cuando sean relevantes, como cuando el volumen del televisor está silenciado, se retrocede un programa o película, o cuando el idioma de un programa no coincide con el idioma del dispositivo.
Otras nuevas características incluyen soporte para relación de aspecto 21:9 para proyectores, nuevos protectores de pantalla y controles mejorados para cambiar los protectores de pantalla, y soporte para Subtítulos en Vivo durante las llamadas de FaceTime a través de un iPhone o iPad.
